Community Guidelines

Updated: Apr 17, 2019

Treat others the way you would want to be treated. It's that simple!

Here are the rules for making our community the best in the beauty.

#1. Think of this site as a space that's about saving money, and sharing discounts, rather than a space for profiteering from fellow community members. Transparent pricing is encouraged (specifying what sub box you got the item in, or what kind of value set, will help your buyer determine whether or not your pricing is fair).

#2. You must take original photos of your stuff (that you physically have and own), and preferably on a dated paper with your name on it. The only exception are ISO posts, where you are looking for an item you do not have, you may use stock photos.

#3. Only list items that you have acquired recently. Stale goods are no fun. If you know you're not going to use something, pass it on to a S//Sister. Please only list items that you have received/purchased no older than one year. Think of the kind of products you’d like to receive.

#4. You should be able to provide a proof of purchase for anything you list. No, you don't have to hoard all your receipts. A screenshot of the email you get as a confirmation from the subscription company works, as does a screenshot of your purchase history from your online account. (Companies like Sephora keep a record of everything you buy on and offline). A PoP may be requested from another member or administrator at any time and must be presented within 48 hours. Failure to produce a kind of PoP to ascertain the legal origin of goods will result in a hold on your account.

In other words, you must be the original purchaser of the items you are listing.

#5. On this platform transparency and honesty is everything. There is zero tolerance of misrepresentation. If in doubt, provide more detail. For example, item condition must be reported with as much detail as possible. The drop down menu options of "new, swatched, used", should be elaborated upon in the description box. The drop down is only meant to be a helpful filter for search-ability.

If you have any doubt about the quality of product you are receiving, do not use it. Safety first.

#6. Only use the payment methods and messaging made available through the Marketplace so that your purchase is protected incase something goes wrong. Going around the site's payment system voids the S//Secure buyer protection money-back policy. If you would like to report anything, feel free to reach out to me at karen@ssbeautymarket.com.

#7. Always leave a review after every transaction. This helps the community keep track of trusted sellers and flag those who don't follow the community guidelines.

Any form of misrepresentation or violation of community guidelines will result in the loss of listing privileges, and/or being banned from the site.

We rely on a high standard of community interactions to maintain a high level of trust among S//Sisters. There is zero tolerance for hate speech, bullying, scammers, or listing misrepresentation.
